Dr. Alexander Facque, MD is a board-certified plastic surgeon and Facial Feminization Surgeon in San Francisco, California who is fellowship-trained in Gender Surgery. In September 2020, Dr. Facque joined the Gender Confirmation Center's team as an Associate Surgeon with expertise in Facial Feminization Surgery, Breast Augmentation and Body Contouring.
Dr. Facque was first introduced to gender-affirming surgical care in 2012 during his plastic surgery residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. He subsequently completed a 1-year fellowship in Gender Surgery with Dr. Loren Schechter at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago, and now works full-time as a Gender Surgeon.
Dr. Facque performs surgery at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, the first hospital internationally to achieve accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Gender Confirmation Surgery by globally-recognized Surgical Review Corporation, a nonprofit patient safety organization dedicated to recognizing and refining surgical care. Staff at Saint Francis have received trans sensitivity training, and they have a transgender liaison nurse team that works directly with patients to ensure a "best in class" healthcare experience. Dr. Facque also operates at the Vista Surgery Center, a fully accredited surgery center located in the same building as the Gender Confirmation Center.

Cost of Facial Feminization Surgery
Out-of-pocket, the cost of Facial Feminization Surgery can range from $20,000 to $50,000 and up. The final cost is dependent on the number of different procedures that are performed. Pricing includes consultations before and after surgery, surgeon's fee, operating room fees, anesthesia fee, implants and post-operative garments. Exact pricing can only be determined following a consultation. Dr. Facque accepts cash, credit cards and medical financing. Many patients opt to pay cash installments or use a credit card to cover the cost of FFS.
Facial Feminization Surgery and Insurance Coverage
Using health insurance is the most affordable way to pay for FFS and while Dr. Facque does accept insurance it's important to note that insurance companies often classify Facial Feminization as elective cosmetic procedures. That said, some health insurance plans are covering FFS. You'll need to contact your insurance provider to find out if your plan will cover FFS. Surgery Requirements
- Good physical and psychological health.
- Hormone therapy is not required.
- Dr. Facque uses informed consent and support letters from a mental health provider are not required. If you're using insurance, the insurance company will require letters.
